The headline rate for UIK inflation for November has remained at 2.1% – inspite of the high petrol prices being experienced by UK consumers in November.

Every consumer knows that every time they have gone to the pumps to fill up prices having been getting steadily higher – the last time I went to a petrol station forecourt the prices had risen to almost 105p per litre.

According to UK National Statistics the average price for petrol rose by 3.5p per litre during November, to 100.7p, in contrast to 0.4p-per-litre fall in November 2006. I stay only a few miles away from an oil refinery and prices no where in my locality are availble for this price.
Overall, however, the cost of electricity, gas and other fuels category was 5.6% lower last month than in November 2006. This is not a figure that many current UK residents taht I know agree with. It maybe that by changing to special tarrifs you can get these costs but its not something that many UK energy consumers will be trusting.

It must just be that in Scotland the costs are still far higher in many parts of the UK – there again it could just be that by comparing certain figures you get the outcome you want.
